A 140-year-old railroad, a brand-new site — and a team that can easily run it themselves.
The Georgetown Loop Railroad is one of Colorado's original tourist attractions — a narrow-gauge engineering marvel high in the Rockies. We rebuilt their website from the ground up and built custom WordPress Gutenberg blocks, so their team can manage every page, season, and event without touching code.
A living, seasonal attraction — on a WordPress site that had gotten hard to manage.
The Georgetown Loop isn't a static museum piece — it's a business that changes with every season, from summer excursions to fall foliage rides to holiday trains. But their WordPress site had aged, and keeping it current had become a chore: updates were slow and fiddly, and a small content change could knock the design out of place on the front end. They needed two things: a design worthy of the ride, and a site their team could update with confidence — quickly, and without anything breaking.
A site as memorable as the ride — that the team controls.
We redesigned the whole website to do justice to the scenery and the history, then rebuilt it on custom WordPress Gutenberg blocks — so every page, from the homepage to Ride With Us, is theirs to edit, rearrange, and refresh in a few clicks, with the design holding together no matter who's making the change.
- A ground-up redesign built around the experience
- Custom Gutenberg blocks that keep every edit on-brand
- Fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and phone
Redesign the site, then hand them the keys.
We didn't just rebuild the site — we built it so the team could run it, using WordPress the way they already know how to work.
A design worthy of the Rockies
We rebuilt the site from the ground up — a clean, modern design that puts the scenery, the history, and the experiences front and center, and makes booking a ride effortless on any device.
Building blocks made for their content
We built a library of custom Gutenberg blocks tailored to how the railroad works — experiences, events, galleries, and calls to action — so pages assemble like Lego and stay on-brand no matter who's editing.
Every season, in their hands
Now the team launches a holiday train, updates a page, or swaps in a new seasonal experience themselves, in minutes — and the front end stays polished every time. The site keeps up with the business.
